Laserdrive 405 nm 1.5 amps darlington npn pair - injecting the pwm signal with 10 volts runs with a supply voltage of 12.3 V, the 3.3 Ohms resistor ( min 5 watts ! ) reduce' the amperge - lower - to 2.5 Ohms will arize the current through the laser diode - or higher, 3.3 Ohms will lower the amperage.. the amazing thing - the laser diode during off state of the pwm signal is NOT completely switched off, ( 0 Volts ) but a certain current does run through it, but not enough for the laser diode to start to laser', so any arize of the pwm signal does not force the laserdiode to start fom 'null ' for - its already prewarmed', just a bit lower to the treshhold current - before its starts to lase with full power...
