Does not have an advatage above 3phase, cuz this 4phase can be simplified to a 2phase. Check this 3 phase and see the low output ripple and high frequency 6kHz, while yours has just 4kHz like a 2phase one can produce. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5102083368026112

Yes,but when we increase the phase the effect of ripple decrease until become zero at phase is infinite
