MOSFET SIMULATION - As power is sent to the gate the gate stores the power and keep the status closed allowing power keep going through the load to ground. 

A ground source at the gate will drain the power stored and open the status cutting the power off to ground from the load.

Yeah this is the way flash memory operates. The digital impulses get stored on the gate and when you need to erase them a transistor bleeds the voltage to ground.
