This uses the 555 timer to simulate a toy organ. The switches connect to different valued resistors to change the oscillations at the output.
Normally a speaker is used in place of the lamp and would generate differing tones rather than a fast our slow blink

I like the idea! With a little fine-tuning and an additional amplifier this could be a nice kids-project.

With a small speaker it sounds off pretty well if you have it powered with a bench top power supply, with a 9V battery its a bit on the quiet side
