Illustration of near equivalence. Shows similarities and differences. I added a switch at each diode to allow a wide range of different modes as well as letting you see the expected fault waveforms for a rectifier with one or more open-circuited diodes.

Yes, the main difference is, full 3ph wave gives you sqrt(3) = 1.73 voltage more then peak at half wave of any no of phases.
