To keep young sons from doing sharp turns at high speeds in a power boat, one father took two test tubes with corks (made two mercury switches) mounted at 45 degrees on boat stern with one wire connected to engine magneto and second wire of tube connected to ground.
Bottoms of test tubes V' d inward and tube tops outward. If boat gets close to "flip" angle the mercury rising up side of test tube shorts out engine.
