Have found a few shorts caused by moving components around and rectified. The power source in the top left is the solar panels, the other one is the rechargeable battery and the motor is the load. The two zener diodes depicted are in fact adjustable voltage regulators which I can't replicate and the relay is in place of an optical coupler, the coil being adjusted to match the driving led. The 555 timer has a very strange current flow when the switches are open, battery fully charged and the panels at 12V output. Any idea how this is supposed to work?
