Dynamic Braking in Diesel Locomotive

Simple ckt showing electrical braking system in a diesel locomotive called as Dynamic Braking. In this, a potentiometer acts as a selector handle. Position 6 to 1 acts as motoring and 6 to 9 as braking. While braking traction motors act as a generator and generates current which is dissipated in resistor grids. Relay acts as contactor.
