Is this the correct connection for using a transistor as a switch ??

In circuits you have batteries or power supplies, current sources are special devices and are Not normally used for beginners circuits. Transistors need a power supply to switch, that transistor is not powered. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5031748613439488
