Throw the switch and see the difference in how a capacitor corrects the power factor issues an inductive circuit causes. When the switch is open the current is out of phase from the voltage and is 2 mA. When the switch is closed with the capacitor in the circuit, the current is in phase of the voltage and only 50 uA.
