Use a SPST switch to switch between DC or AC supply to light a LED.

Couple things, LEDs in this app are all setup at 2v and 20ma. So ohm's law would be, 5v-2v=3v÷20ma=150 ohm resistor. Adjust the resistor to 150 ohm's for correct illuminating. Adjust the AC voltage 5v. You may want to look at the Examples section for more ideas.
