27 cents PWM modulator

This is a completely working PWM modulator. It was designed to minimize costs. 555 - 10ct;diode - 1ct;1nF ceramic capacitor - 1ct;potentiometer - 15ct. So this whole circuit costs only around 27 cents.
A problem is the variating power consumption, but I will try to fix that. Also, you can not turn it on and off completely, only like 99% on or off.

I would spent the extra cent(s) to add a cap on the control pin. Otherwise your dutycycle might be affected by emi a bit (Not sure tho, but floating pins always try to annoy me). Just an idea: a fillter can remove the 1% and 99% spikes which is really helpful if you dont need super clean edges.

There are a lot of improvements, but I wated to make it as cheap as I can. Also, you can solder this circuit fast and uncomplicated.
