signalgain - Two virtual grounds

signal amplifier tuned for positive voltages using a virtual ground on each inverting amplifier By using a virtual ground the negative going input signal on the first stage amplifier is offset into the positive range. the first stage is an inverting amplifier. the second stage is also inverting so it needs a virtual ground also.

you would use two inverting amplifiers so the gain math is the same for both amplifiers, each amp is set for the square root of the total gain required. it allows you to use the same resistor values on both amps. if you combine an inverting with a non inverting youd need different resistor value for the feedback resistor to get the same gain. its better to stock less unique parts.
