@fatcat2 Nope this won't work for multiple reasons. First, I'm pretty sure the 555 timer won't be able to create a signal at 8MHz. From my experience it's starts to be unusable above 500kHz. 2nd, the RC tank isn't tuned to mobile frequcies. The GSM band is spillt to different frequencies, depending on the service you are using (3G, 4G, 5G etc.) but it's lowest starts at 850MHz. And thrid problem is, that this would only jam one specific frequency. Your phone would just switch to a different channel in the band and thus be able to reconnect

8mhz is a bit much, but some of them are usable up to a few Mhz. I like LMC555 for its fast comparators. It makes nice sharp edges.
