Motor experimenting

Trying to see how the motor works in circuit. Don't know if it works here is same as in the real world. Added diode so motor would have a path to release its charge of voltage and or current, whichever. With switch off the motor releases its energy thru diode.

Its missing its real world inductance. Rather than electrically reversing the polarity like a AC motor, the brushes mechanicly reverse their magnetic polarity, causing a inductance spike. A simple dc motor will have two spikes per rpm, this is where your diode comes in play.

Thanks for the comment. There have been times when I have wondered if it is my lack of understanding or if things don't work as they should because of the programming of EveryCircuit. It is frustrating if the program is not right. I want to learn and experiment with different componants to how they work so how can I trust the program to be right.
