I found it works more reliably by reducing the capacitor to 10uF

Gasboss775, I think that depends on how fast your device is. Mine has trouble with 10uf haha

Problem is not your device or the 10uF. Keep the button pushed and watch the oscillation at a proper simulator configuration which does not cause subsampling. Check this http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6452462754201600
