Power Tool Speed Reducer Circuit

Line voltage in from left.  Switch is D.P.D.T. to transfer both connections at same time.  Switched to left tool motor ( 46.8 ohm resistor at bottom) gets full line voltage.  Switch to right, lamp in series limits amperage through tool motor and controls motor speed.  Low wattage bulb in lamp gives lower speed and higher wattage light bulb allows increased speed.  Vary light wattage in simulator to note amperage change when in right switch settings. Regular outlet connectors can be used for lamp and motor.
