Amprobe Clamp Breakout Line

In simulator, I show short extension cord needed to use clamp on ammeter. I had to remove outer insulation to separate three insulated wires inside. If you measure all three wires together amprobe reads zero amps as black "hot" line and white " common" line cancel meter reading. Clamp one wire white or black at a time for amp reading. Green wire will read zero on meter. I have an Amprobe RS-3 Clamp Ammeter to test electric space heater stoves now. My new heater showed 12 amps on high setting and older heaters showed 6 amps and 3 amps draw on high setting. Nice to measure amps at operating settings. Feels like you know how "sick" your heater is doing.
