Its really a pain that there is no doc. How do you move a whole assembly in the frame ?

You can't, there seriously is no way to do that. Indeed really annoying

How stupid it is ! No docs . Strong limitations for serious work. The developers are sleeping on their initial success.

The app wouldn't have the same educational value if it were as simple as copy and paste. I find it better this way.

@thebugger : Dont use the "its not a bug, its a feature" argument, please. It would be more useful to learn by doing schematics than by searching for a f... Feature or doc ...

I disagree that Jacques is trying to cheat anything. I myself have all to often come up against a wall, because I wasn't paying close enough attention. That's when you really wish you could move a bunch of parts en mass.

Instead of moving, cut and paste feature, Igor could think about an auto center feature? Anyway, moving 5 components around is not a bug. Its a "bug" if you belief your circuit needs more than >>10 components. If you use more than this its upto you. EC is suppose to be a tool which helps to learn electronic. Its not suppose to do large system projects. To see how a counter works it ok to place 1 or 2. Many circuits here have 6 and moving is than a pain. Anyway with 6 × 4bit count plus encoder and 7segment led there is not much space left for moving. This brings the next request "please give me more space, i would like to put my master thesis on EC :-(, please help!" I'm happy the space is limited. More space would create more shit circuits. Circuit without description. Useless circuits for learning. Just my 2cents.

EC needs a +1 comment button so I can +1 hurz's last comment

Besides all what was said, I think implementing a group select for moving parts should not be a big deal. It unrelated to copy-paste anyway, but being able to copy a component with changed value could be a plus.

Stanilav, you know about this drag and drop feature for objects/components to overwrite properties? E.g. place 2 transistors, modify one as you wish to have them all, drag the modified one and drop it on the default transistor. Volia a new clone is born ;-)

hurz, i did not know that, thanks!

Neither did I! Thanks much, hurz! This is a prime example why EC NEEDS a manual. There are hints and tips that need to be published. Instead of many of us stumbling around hoping to find operations like that one. Should be required reading.

Right @UncleRick, I call this knowledge "droid knowledge" and I try always to not keep it as secret. A manual would solve this.

Speaking of "moving". When you have a rather complicated and tight schematic and you are viewing it zoomed in, it is sometimes difficult to find a location for your finger, to move your view around the circuit, without relocating a part. Can be frustrating. I asked Igor about making a mod to allow us to move without selecting a part, he didn't think it would be easy to implement. Just the other day I discovered by accident, a way to do this move easily. Just use two fingers as if you were going to zoom the view. Instead of widening or narrowing your fingers, simply move two fingers in tandem. It moves your view without selecting any parts. I imagine I am not the first to discover this, but I have not seen it mentioned before.

Yeah well on the subject of education: I'd find it more educational if I didn't have to waste the minutes away doing repetitive tasks that computers where designed to free us up from.

No debate, it is crazy you cannot group , move and copy assemblies and the workspace restricition has me looking elsewhere for a simulator...any suggestions?

I totally agree with SimonMasters. The EveryCircuit UI is beautiful but it's crazy to not support these simple, intuitive UI conventions.

I'm a new user. The app is amazing, but the lack of docs and no tools for develop a community is just plain stupid. It feels like doing a perfect exam but forgot to write your name.

Hi... I am new to everycircuit, and thought i was being stupid in not finding any help, or how to move multiple comps, I see this has been an on going issue, should be resolved... std windows ctrl would do... and help file, and instruction video .... at least
