Removing operational amplifier moved output to negative 18 volts with same wave form. Op amp to get wave positive stood out for me.

Op amp works as a subtractor. It changes 180° phase of negative rectified wave and adds it to positive rectified wave . This circuit can be used to get various amplitude output by changing various gain of op-amp instead of using bulky transformer and changing it everytime for changing the output voltage.
