Choke

Chokes are used to cancel out jitters or spikes interfering with the source supply. These types of circuit fidelity components include ferrite filters on power source connections, also twisted pairs of cables insure that these undesired effects are affecting both lines. Then using combination of these filtering methods ensure a safe operating source against low voltage artifacts. Safety against high voltage crippling and invasive surges, use combinations of MOVs, fuses and especially spark gaps on your PCB.

Yes that's what a choke basically is. Nice simple explanation. I like this too. My favorite Albert Einstein quote is ,, If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.''

Oh my friend, the one I know best is: the more I learn, the less I know.

whenever i hear aboutg choke gizmo instantly an 10 henry monster low herz ripple eliminatror stand before my eyes lol. i'm still curious why tube lovers do not use any improvements for this classic lc ripple filter and still use those fat heavy chokes. virtually well made rectified mains passive lc ripple filter circuit will require only 2 - 3 henries inductor without airgap so it reduce size and weight 3-4 times and more make less noise and introduce less trash from core that is heavy dc magnetized almost touching saturation area and by this generate most nonlinearities. they are so aware for anything that introduce trash distortions why then still use such giant poor efficiency magnetic bricks?

Any inductor subjected to a high frequency signal becomes a high impedance element and hence kills the high frequency components. These are essentials to digital electronics. I don't know why would anyone use those for variable current sinking circuits.

It is the challenge beset upon every engineer, electrical, mechanical or otherwise, to find the simplest means to build the thing, yet retain the ability to produce reliable results.

Read up on " Occam's razor", it's a good theory for anyone to keep in mind. Lol- and I'll bet that Secu is already keenly familiar with the notion of it, if not the term as well..
