This chargecontroller charges the battery up to 14.6V and starts charging at 13V. The 3F Capacitor should be a battery. The 1 Ohm resistor is for current regulation The 100 Ohm is only load so the charge controller can turn on and of the charge V2: Added extra diode. Changed value of current limiting resistor from 20 ohms down to 1 Ohm (less more heat than the 20 Ohm resistor should give while charging) Changed Cap Value from 1F to 4F (bigger battery) Change the Load resistor to 10 Ohms

Sorry Billy, dont want to anoy you, but I like to test charger better this way by using a parametric voltage source, this helps better to see what current at which voltage is apllied http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6321053444079616

@hurz you do not annoy me (very much any way), you also provide much Information and many ideas that promote other trains of thought, that being said, the circuit I provided was one that simulated the results of charging based on experience, unfortunately EC can not simulate the charging of batteries too well. Not to say that your circuit showing the vectors was not a positive idea.

For a car battery, the cut in voltage should be about 12.8V and the cut out voltage should be about 14.2 to 14.4 Volts. Any higher than this tends to just 'boil off' the electrolyte, and can warp the plates.
