Conditional IF statement loops - 2

I strufggled grasping use of logic gates, the exception is computer languages where my experience might make it seem easier then. It has been years on everycircuit I attempted to use logic gates with no progress. I finally realized this circuit using transistors, a component that has stumped me even longer. My experience in electronics never involved logic gates, and I learned mainly of RadioShack Engineer's notebooks and 70's project books of my fathers, accompanied by converted the dining room table from a tool shelf to a power supplied project solder station complete with a his own little store wall of unopened dated Archer product. True story, he was finishing up a new Southtown RadioShack store's swing walls before it had any products it only had blank walls with the classic bevel track lines for metal peg hangers for, what else, parts!

Nope, a carpenter by trait, excellent at it, but could definitely fix anything on his own car, and knew his way around some electronics well.
