I was seeing how many led's i could hook up to one 9v battery when I suddenly wondered if this really was possible for it to draw this much of a charge at once? And if it is possible then wouldn't this end up sucking the battery clean in hours? Sorry if the answer is obvious, Im only a hobbiest and I'm new to this kinda thing. Also does it matter which side of the led's the resister is on? Thanks.

Those LEDs need about 3V plus. So i think three are the max in series for 9V. Each led needs 25 to 50mA depends on active color combination. Put them in serie will darken all leds, cuz they are not in sync.
