Parts Description for Charger to charge 3 or 4 batteries:

Left SPST switch is 12 hour timer switch, 20 amp, 115 volt

Power transformer is 115 volt to 12-24 volt transformer 25 amp at 24 volts

Diode is selenium rectifier single phase bridge circuit 15 to 20 amp capacity at 26 volts

sure why not, if batterie (accu) does fit in capacity and the diode is powerful enough it does work. Here the simulation of an empty accu and how the charge current would look like http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5349986890678272

i just change your mini diode against aomething more powerful, without any regulation its the result you get from your basic idea.
