Its not a multiplier, its in best case a peak to peak converter. Some call it voltage doubler, which is also wrong. What it does is, transform 200Vpp (peak to peak) to 200VDC. No multiplication, its more a shift and peak detector. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4831840190595072

Doubler or multiplier simply bcoz the input voltages will be doubled or multiply by 2 but if the circuit added another stges let say 3 stages circuit it will be multiply by 3
