This thing http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6323119550103552 by cussigh98 recalled back some school time memories about what to do with discontinued electronic components. Instead of disposing them properly they may be used for some exploding fun and sent sky high. "Compatible" with diodes, transistors, small electrolytic capacitors (<=30V), resistors (<=0.25W), IC's... you know them.
DON'T TRY THIS INSIDE HOME OR IN PUBLIC! Do it away from flammable materials, furniture and other items which must not be damaged or burned. Don't stay near connected element. Use eye and skin protection. Avoid electric shock by disconnecting this device from mains socket every time when you not use it or when you change the "material" at right. You are solely responsible for property damage, injuries or death, caused by improper use of this device.
You will need a small board (10 x 15 cm), wire for connection to mains (~110/220V), automatic fuse for 230V/6-10A current, push button and two long wires with connectors. All parts except fuse must withstand 230V/25A. The wire length at right side depends from safe distance between connected element, you and flammable materials. Even better if you will add the second power socket at right side and connect the "experiment subject" through extension cord.
There are no automatic fuse element in EC, so the NC push button is used instead.
