Linear voltage regulator -ish

It doesn’t really work when loaded, lol. It’s basically just the high input example circuit in the 78xx datasheet, but the 7805 isn’t in everycircuit so i tried to emulate it as well as I could. I added the 1mF caps and the first diode to try to smooth the input. I’ve noticed that 78xx regulators go bananas when powered with some switched mode power supplies. The input is meant to simulate a shitty laptop charger.

When i tried to see it ec said "unknown component" . Any idea about what this notice is?

@methamafoz you might need to update your version of EC. The polarized caps used here are a fairly recent addition to the component list.

@trollis what you have here is a linear regulator and not a step down voltage regulator. That term is reserved for buck converters only
