I don't think I will try this.  from left to right:
- sawtooth oscillator
- comparator 
- schmitt trigger

was playing around to see if it would be less effort to make a discrete version using transistors instead of ICs to handle larger voltages eg 60V

I'm not going to make a circuit board from this but it is cool.

Actually this can be simplified a lot. The current mirrors can be substituted with normal resistors for instance which elimimates the use of many transistors.
