Can i now Why source voltage exceeds than lamp voltage? I.e 100v to 173v

173 is the peek value of the voltage supply, 100 is the RMS value of the lamp.

So rms value of the supply is 0.707 x 173=122.311 v

I suspect that @jayveer is referring to Japan (100v mains), and the shown supply is just presented with that V so that the lamps appear brighter here on EC ?? ... here is an alternative presentation for Europe http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5195007517786112
