Another Variation of the DAC R2R with the most significant bit being passed through an inverting comparator. When the MSB is high it exposes the resistor ladder with -5 volts, shifting the output by that amount. The result is an analog representation of twos compliment, allowing negative bitwise numbers to represent negative voltage.
