Looking good but try to find a MOSFET instead of using lots of parallel transistors. Also the value you want is the wattage across the resistive coil (Amp*R)

Do a search here for (Vv mod 2 MOSFET) you will find what you are looking for using lower voltage getting the same results.

My vv mod is a vv & vc mod, with vv you change the volts to the coil & depending on the heater coil type used can be a waste of power. Some time you want to vary the current at a given voltage (regulator) type circuit, my circuit offers both

Thanks for the input! Any recommendations to make it run on 3S LiPo or a 12 volt source? I have more 11.1 volt packs than anything else. How many watts would you suggest for a typical 1.8 ohm coil?
