If you have a mechanical mod , you don't have the electronic circuit to protect the battery from deep discharge.So with this circuit you can make a small voltmeter with 510 conector to connect directly to mod to measure the batery voltage from time to time.The levels are: 3,8V and above - green, 3,6V and above - yellow and 3.0V and above - red
