This is a simple LDR (Light Depend Resistance) based automatic light which operates automatically on darkness. The transistor used is BC547. And the LDR denoted by potentiometer. When light falls on LDR, the resistance drops. And the transistor acts as a switch which operates the output LED. (Switch ON the circuit and adjust the potentiometer)

Be careful to avoid the LDR sensing the light you're controling ^^
