NPN transistor is operated by the N.O. switch. When the switch is closed, the transistor is biased and current flows through the resistor and LED causing it to glow. A 470 ohm resistor is connected to the led and 110 ohm is connected to the base.

A resitorc(10k) is missing at the base .you have a base emitter current of 5A.
