The switch on the right simulates an open circuit (a failed light bulb), and the LED indicates this. The resistor is selected depending on the connected load (in this case, 6Ω provides an emitter-base voltage = 0.7 volts)

Выключатель справа имитирует обрыв цепи (вышедшей из строя лампочки), а светодиод это индицирует. Резистор подбирается в зависимости от подключаемой нагрузки (в данном случае 6Ω обеспечивает напряжение эмиттер- база = 0,7 вольт)
