First subtract the voltage from the source of 5v minus the voltage from the silicon diode of .7volt equal = 4.3volt then add to find the total resistance in series 1.2kohms plus 2.2khms = 3.4koms so the use the current formula I= 4.3volts/3.4kohms = 1.26mAmps
