Simple Tracking ADC

The input analog signal (green triangle wave) is compared to the output of a DAC which is increased until it matches the input analog signal voltage. The value of the binary value fed into the DAC in order to match the analog input is taken as the converted digital value.

I believe another name for this circuit is "Counting Type ADC". Your description and circuit are built very well and easy to follow. Nice job 👍

Correction: A Counting Type ADC and a Tracking ADC are actually different circuits. A Counting ADC does not use an up-down counter. My mistake!
