Right = 1st digit
Middle = 2nd digit 
Left = 3rd digit

These are hexadecimal counters, so they are counting from 0-9, then a-f, they count up to 16. If you want them only to count from 0-9, then hook pins a and d up to the inputs of an and gate, then the out out of that to the reset of that counter and the up pin of the next counter.

Yes it will, because then it's only counting from 0-9, that's 10 digits, so it is now a decimal counter. If it counts from 0-a then it is counting to 11...
