Voltage regulating using zener

The voltage across the LED remains same(~2v)....whatever source you use.... Vary the source voltage.... From 3v to 80v.... It won't harm the LED..

The zener current shouldn't be 900mA but more like 15mA

Actually it is theoretically OK..... But practically..... You should not use 60v to glow a led.... Even voltage regulators can't handle it

I used to glow a 2v LED with 9v battery.... No heating.... Working fine
