Aluminium Foil Move

Say a remote control button, perhaps the ON/ OFF, is "worn out". The conductor disk under top of button no longer works. I took out top button to reach the "forked" contacts below mounted on circuit board below. Left square is flat aluminum foil (wide enough to hold between fingers) to roll up tightly to cover "forked" printed circuit contacts. First, press coiled ends of rolled foil on table to flatten contact area. Second, if old the remote control may need new batteries. Third, imitate use when button worked before. Point remote at device, push end of aluminum foil roll firmly on printed circuit board for same time as when button worked, may close to one second, and when you pull up on contact foil the device should toggle ON/OFF. Universal remote controls at times do all the functions but original control may have features you want to use.
