4 bit Ring counter implementation using JK FF. Input button given near 7 segment display. Use input to start the Ring counter by providing 1 only for a single clock cycle until first FF register the input. You can keep 2 or 3 FF high at a time too. n-bit Ring counter has n number of states.

There is no need here. The ring counter works only if you turn off the input after 1 clock cycle. Then the states it represents will be 1, 2, 4, and 8. Let me fix this need of turning off of input.
