Your circuit works fine but the leds would be a little dim. EC leds are nominally set for 2v @ 20ma._ _ _9v-2v-2v=5v _ _ _5v÷20ma=250ohms_ _ _or a 255 ohm single resistor. In reality each color of led draws a different current. Don't quit posting, I learned from here too.

But also note that most LED’s are now very bright with much less current so if you make this circuit you may prefer a different series resistor.
