Motor represents alternator charging battery.  Top line is sensor to control charging rate.

Voltage drop through diodes of .7 volts or 1.1 volts tells voltage regulator to boost charge sent to battery to higher voltage we want the battery to be charged.  This boost charge (about 1.4 volts) is not shown in simulation.
