It does work although not as a traditional "on/off" button. What you need to do is to press and hold down the push button until the LED flashes several times then release the push button; the circuit will then deactivate.

What I have noticed is that you have to push and hold down the push button for a few seconds, repeating this process several times before the LED begins flashing. Thereafter it's just a matter of holding down the push button as per my original comment.
