The variable resistor change the current limit.

I determined my target current by adjusting the resistor. Then changed the potentiometer to set my limit current, which not to pass. So, if I change the load resistor again to simulate more current demand by the load. Why does the current change? Guessing it's this simulator correct? In the real world that should not happen. PS: Thank you for the circuit.
