Creating a positive and negative supply voltage

The positive and negative ends of two 9V power supplies are shorted together to ground to make a relative equal voltage distance in the negative and positive direction. This can be used for op-amps or with square wave oscillators that need to create a negative and positive voltage to better imitate a sine wave.
