555 at 1MHz ok, plus a proper antenna and a tone generator e.g. 440Hz instead of 60Hz hum might give you 10m range as a doorbell ;) if you have a receiver with squelch level. 10m because squelch must be quite high set over night to not wakeup by arabic radio stations over night :-)

First i recommend an improvement of simulation by set the right simspeed, cuz 555 actually oscillates at ~1.1MHz and not at 1.8kHz. To do so you can place a dummy source at 500kHz unconnected. Most likely you might also use as tone generator a simple square wave instead of sine. Set it to e.g. 10us period with zero rise and fall time, which is higher then 440Hz, but let you see some action in simulation. Keep it up!
