SYNCHROSCOPE

The power plant on the left shows two generators tied in synchronization. ********************************************* ********************************************* The power plant on the right shows two generators not synchronized. At the instant when the lamp in the center goes dark, it's the time when synchronization is achieved and the generator can be tied or linked electrically together to carry a bigger load than a single generator can handle. The reason for the center light to go dark when in synchrony is because there is no difference of potential between phases and this can be seen on the scope with the sine waves perfectly overlapping each other.

Im sure it's a simple mistake but with one unit at 59hz, load will not be balanced properly.

The point about 59 hz versus 60 hz is to show the center lamp illumination for the purpose of demonstrating lack of synchronicity between the two generators on the right as opposed to the synchronized generators on the left, which show the center lamp always dark. I hope this clarifies this exercise, and thank you for your comment, please comment again.

As far as the load not being balanced properly, you are absolutely right. And that is why I am making this demonstration, by one generator being slower in frequency than the other, which we will call the base unit, this gen will actually will act as a motor instead of carrying it share of the load.
