To eliminate ripple, replace the smaller resistor with a 25.5-100 Henry inductor, move the 4.7 K resistor in series with the zener diode instead of in parallel, connecting to the inductor, change the polarized capacitor to 1mF (1,000 μF), bypass the transformer, and delete said transformer altogether

@Redstone_guy, there are 3 main problems with the circuit you have presented, 1. The choke, if it could be sourced would be extremely large. 2, The circuit output is very subject to load changes, thus not practical. 3, removing the transformer presents the danger of an electrical shock.
